Bricktown is the entertainment hub of Oklahoma City, a converted warehouse district centred on a mile-long canal lined with restaurants, bars, and live music venues. The area was derelict until the late 1990s when a city sales tax funded its transformation, and it now draws most of the downtown nightlife.
The Oklahoma Land Run Monument along the canal is worth a stop — a series of large bronze sculptures depicting the 1889 land run that founded the city, with settlers on horseback racing for claims. Water taxis run the length of the canal from spring through autumn and are a pleasant way to take it all in.
