Oklahoma City's main performing arts venue, an Art Deco hall built in 1937 on a city block adjoining the Myriad Botanical Gardens. The Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Oklahoma City Ballet, Lyric Theatre and Canterbury Voices all perform here, and the Broadway-touring shows that pass through Oklahoma usually book the main 2,500-seat Thelma Gaylord stage.
Even outside performance times the building is worth a look — the lobbies retain a lot of their original WPA-era detail. Tickets are reasonable by the standards of comparable cities, and downtown parking is easy in the evening.
