Almost certainly the only museum in the world dedicated to the banjo. Two floors of instruments in a Bricktown warehouse on the canal — over four hundred banjos arranged by maker and era, from minstrel-show originals through the jazz-age tenor banjos and modern bluegrass five-strings. The instruments are beautiful objects in themselves: mother-of-pearl inlay, gilded resonators, painted skin heads.
Allow ninety minutes. Live performances on weekend afternoons, and a small gift shop selling sheet music and tutorials. A delightful side trip when you're already in Bricktown for an evening.
