Oklahoma City National Memorial

168 empty chairs honouring the 1995 bombing victims

The memorial occupies the site of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, destroyed in the 1995 bombing that killed 168 people. The outdoor memorial features 168 empty chairs arranged in rows, each bearing the name of a victim, surrounded by a reflecting pool. The adjacent museum tells the story of the attack and its aftermath in detail. One of the most well-designed memorials in the country.
