Letná Park sits on a plateau above Holešovice, looking south over the Old Town and the river — the view from the terrace is one of the best in Prague, and far less crowded than the castle outlook on the other side. The park is where Prague's residents go to run, cycle, skateboard, and drink beer.
The Letná beer garden (Letenský zámeček) is a terrace with a magnificent view and reasonable prices. The giant metronome on the cliff marks where Stalin's statue once stood — the world's largest Stalin monument was erected here in 1955 and blown up in 1962 when Khrushchev began de-Stalinization. On summer evenings, the park fills with locals; the skateboard park below the terrace runs until dark.
