The Rudolfinum, built in 1885, stands on Jan Palach Square facing the Vltava, its neo-Renaissance colonnaded facade one of the finest 19th-century buildings in Prague. It serves as both Prague's principal concert venue — the Czech Philharmonic plays here — and a gallery of contemporary art, the Galerie Rudolfinum, in its north wing.
Dvořák Hall, the main concert space, is acoustically excellent and visually beautiful. Attending a Czech Philharmonic concert here is one of the authentic Prague experiences that no amount of tourist infrastructure can replicate. Tickets are available online and often not expensive; check the schedule at ceskafilharmonie.cz.
