Prague Zoo consistently ranks among Europe's best, spread over 58 hectares of hilly terrain above the Vltava in the Troja neighbourhood. The layout takes advantage of the topography — enclosures follow natural gradients and viewpoints are built into the walking routes. The zoo has a strong reputation for breeding programmes, particularly for endangered species.
