Zbraslav Chateau

Baroque chateau with Czech sculpture and quiet gardens

A former Cistercian monastery about 11 km south of Prague, rebuilt as a baroque chateau in the 18th century. Now part of the National Gallery, it holds a collection of 19th and 20th century Czech sculpture. The gardens are particularly good for a summer's-day picnic; the chateau itself is a quiet, less-visited alternative to the central Prague museums.
