The Drago Palace, on the south side of Cathedral Square, is one of the oldest aristocratic houses in Kotor — the original building dates from the late 14th century, with substantial Gothic-Renaissance additions in the fifteenth. The carved family arms over the door, two stylised dragons, are still clearly visible above the entrance.
The interior houses the offices of a regional cultural institute and is not open to casual visitors, but the facade and the small adjacent loggia are worth a few minutes. The pointed Gothic windows on the upper floor are unusual in Kotor, most of whose noble houses were rebuilt in the Renaissance style after the 1667 earthquake.
