Pima Palace

The Pima Palace, on Trg od Brašna, is the most ornate of the surviving aristocratic houses in the old town — a late-Renaissance facade with carved stone balconies, a heavy entrance portal, and the family coat of arms above the door. The Pimas were among the most powerful Kotor families during the Venetian period.

The palace is in private hands and not generally open to visitors, but the facade is worth slowing down for. The square it faces, Trg od Brašna ("the Flour Square"), is named for the wheat warehouses that once stood here; it is now one of the quieter and more atmospheric spots in the old town.
