A formerly derelict warehouse district between the city centre and the south docks, repurposed since around 2010 into Liverpool's most fashionable creative quarter — a mix of digital startups, independent breweries, music venues, street art, and bar–restaurants in converted industrial buildings. Jamaica Street is the spine; the streets either side are full of murals.
The district has the slightly self-conscious feel of any post-industrial regeneration, but the venues are genuine: the Baltic Market food hall, Camp and Furnace, the Invisible Wind Factory, Constellations, and the Cain's Brewery Village. It's the most reliable place in Liverpool for a late-night drink that isn't on Mathew Street.
