St Cecilia's Hall is Scotland's oldest purpose-built concert hall, opened in 1763 and now home to the University of Edinburgh's collection of historic musical instruments. The museum focuses on instruments from the 16th to the 20th centuries, including pieces that have largely disappeared from modern performance.
It is a strong stop for anyone interested in music, craftsmanship, or the quieter corners of the Old Town. Concerts still make use of the historic room.
