St Giles' High Kirk is the great church of the Royal Mile, with a 14th-century core, Victorian Gothic restoration, and the famous crown spire above the Old Town. Inside, look for the richly carved Thistle Chapel, the stained glass, and the layers of Scottish religious history packed into the nave.
