One of Rome's finest art collections, housed in a 17th-century villa inside Villa Borghese park. The ground floor is Bernini's room: six of his early marble sculptures are here, including Apollo and Daphne (1622–25) and The Rape of Proserpina — both showing his ability to render flesh, movement, and emotion in stone with an immediacy that still shocks. The upper floor contains paintings: Raphael, Caravaggio, Titian, Cranach.
Entry is strictly limited to 2-hour slots of 360 people; book weeks ahead in peak season. No booking, no entry. The villa sits in the largest public park in Rome — worth walking through to reach it.
