Mosque of Rome

The Mosque of Rome is one of Europe's largest mosques, inaugurated in 1995 on the northern side of the city. Its design blends modern concrete forms with Islamic architectural motifs, including a large prayer hall supported by branching columns that suggest a grove of trees.

For visitors, the interest is mainly architectural and cultural: it shows a side of contemporary Rome far removed from the ancient and Baroque core.
