Ponte Sant'Angelo is the pedestrian bridge linking Castel Sant'Angelo with the opposite bank of the Tiber. Built by Hadrian in 134 AD for access to his mausoleum, it later became a pilgrim route toward St Peter's Basilica and is now known for its line of angel statues.
