Porta San Paolo is one of the best-preserved gates in Rome's Aurelian Walls, standing beside the Pyramid of Cestius. It marked the start of the Via Ostiense toward the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls and gives this corner of Testaccio a clear link to ancient Rome.
