A specialist museum housed in a 1906 neoromanian palace on Șoseaua Kiseleff, opposite the Museum of the Romanian Peasant. The collection covers Romanian geology in detail — Carpathian minerals, Transylvanian gold nuggets, ammonites from the Dobruja, salt crystals from the Praid mine — and includes one of the best fluorescent-minerals dark rooms in Eastern Europe.
It is a small museum that punches above its weight; specialists will spend hours and children love the fluorescent room. Closed on Mondays. Easy to combine with the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant next door for a half-day along the Kiseleff axis.
