Mercado de la Cebada is La Latina's neighborhood market, standing on the site of a 19th-century glass-and-iron hall. The current vaulted concrete building is not as elegant as its predecessor, but it remains a useful stop for seeing everyday food shopping in the old quarter.
It works best as part of a walk through La Latina, especially if you are already visiting nearby Plaza de la Paja, Cava Baja, or El Rastro.
