Santiago Bernabéu

Real Madrid's stadium, one of the most famous football grounds in the world and the site of fifteen European Cup / Champions League titles. The 81,000-seat ground was opened in 1947 and named after the long-serving club president; it has just emerged from a multi-year reconstruction that added a retractable roof, a steel-clad facade, and an underground pitch storage system.

If you cannot get a match ticket — and they sell out fast against the big opponents — the Bernabéu Tour lets you walk through the dressing rooms, pitch-side, the press room, and a four-storey trophy museum that doubles as a corporate-history exercise. Tours run all day every day except match days; book online to skip the queue. Tickets €25-30. Metro Santiago Bernabéu (line 10).
