The old Nokia submarine-cable factory in Ruoholahti — the largest single building in Finland — converted from the 1990s into a cultural centre. Three museums (Theatre Museum, Hotel and Restaurant Museum, Finnish Museum of Photography) occupy parts of the ground floor; the rest is filled with around 250 artists' studios, performance spaces, dance schools, and a small craft brewery.
It is more interesting on event nights (open studios in spring and autumn, the Flow After Party in August) than on a weekday, but the photography museum is worth the visit at any time. Metro to Ruoholahti, then a five-minute walk west.
