Helsinki's traditional amusement park, on a hilltop just north of the centre. Open since 1950 and owned by a foundation that channels all profits to Finnish children's welfare charities — a Finnish twist that makes the whole place feel slightly more virtuous than a normal funfair.
The signature ride is the Vuoristorata, a 1951 wooden rollercoaster that one operator rides each circuit, manually braking on the descents. Newer rides include the inverted Hype and the launched Taiga. Entrance is free; you pay for individual rides or buy a day wristband. Open from late April to late October, with extended hours for Christmas in November and December.
