A miniature Victorian garden on the west side of Avenue of the Republic, between Church and North Streets. The garden takes its name from the path that once led from the Dutch West India Company's barracks to the river. It is small enough to walk around in ten minutes — a bandstand, palms, flowering shrubs, and a few benches — but offers a pleasant pause from the noise of Avenue of the Republic.
The bandstand still occasionally hosts open-air concerts, particularly around Republic Day. Worth a brief stop if you are walking between St. George's Cathedral and the northern end of the city.
