Begin Center

The Begin Center is a museum and memorial dedicated to Menachem Begin, the underground commander who became Israel's first prime minister from outside the Labor movement and later signed the peace treaty with Egypt.

The exhibits are most useful for visitors trying to understand modern Israeli politics through one life story: pre-state militancy, opposition politics, the 1977 electoral upheaval, and the Camp David era. Its location near Yemin Moshe makes it easy to combine with a walk above the Old City walls.
