Jason's Tomb is a rock-cut burial cave from the Maccabean period in a residential part of West Jerusalem. An inscription links it to a man named Jason, described as having sailed to Egypt, which gives the small site an unusually personal historical hook.
The tomb is freely accessible and worth a short detour if you are already nearby. It is not a major set-piece sight, but it gives a quiet glimpse of ancient Jerusalem outside the more visited Old City circuit.
