The Mount Zion Tunnel is a restored remnant of the route used to supply Mount Zion between 1948 and 1967, when the area was cut off from West Jerusalem and exposed to fire from the Old City walls.
The surviving section can be walked as a short, unusual approach to Mount Zion. It works best as part of a route between Yemin Moshe, Dormition Abbey, and the edges of the Old City, adding a concrete Cold War-era layer to Jerusalem's older stone landmarks.
