Garden Tomb

The Garden Tomb is a peaceful Christian pilgrimage site just north of Damascus Gate. Some Protestants have proposed it as an alternative location for the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, pointing to the nearby skull-like hill, ancient tomb, cistern, and winepress.

Whether or not you accept the identification, the garden is a calm and meaningful stop near the Old City. It contrasts sharply with the density of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, making it especially worthwhile for travellers interested in Jerusalem's layered Christian traditions.
