KL Forest Eco Park

Canopy walkway through a protected patch of original rainforest at Bukit Nanas in the city centre

Nine hectares of primary tropical rainforest sitting on Bukit Nanas hill, right in the middle of the city — protected since 1906 and one of the oldest forest reserves in Malaysia. A 200-metre canopy walkway runs through the upper storey of the forest at around 21 metres above ground, with views out to the KL Tower above and the city's skyscrapers beyond.

Three short walking trails (Penarahan, Merbau, and Arboretum) loop through the forest at ground level, marked with information panels about the species. Allow an hour for the lot. Entrance is free and the park is open 7 am to 6 pm. The main entrance is on Jalan Raja Chulan, a short walk from the Bukit Nanas monorail station; you can combine it with a visit to the KL Tower above.
