A former Federated Malay States Railway maintenance workshop dating from the 1920s, bombed by Allied aircraft during the Second World War and then largely abandoned for decades. Since 2019 the surviving locomotive sheds have been adapted into a creative market hall and event venue, complete with food stalls, design shops, vintage clothing, and a regular line-up of weekend pop-ups, live music, and night markets.
The architecture is the appeal — soaring iron-truss roofs over polished concrete floors, original brickwork left exposed, big arched windows letting the afternoon light in. Located in Sentul, about 3 km north of central KL; easiest access is via Grab. Best visited on a Friday or Saturday evening when there's something on. The neighbourhood around it remains gritty, which is part of the charm.
