Taman Budaya Kuala Lumpur is a theatre and arts centre in a building with a longer story than its current use suggests. It was the first home of the Victoria Institution until 1929, and the site was tied to the Ethel Proudlock murder case in 1911.
Much of the wider school complex disappeared in the 1960s, and this building was later damaged by fire before being refurbished. It is a small but worthwhile stop for travellers interested in Kuala Lumpur's colonial-era civic fabric.
