Vake Park

Large wooded park in the Vake district, the green lung of western Tbilisi

Vake Park is the main green space of western Tbilisi, a large forested park on the hillside above the Vake district that serves as the city's de facto outdoor living room. The park has wide paths, a lake with paddle boats, an open-air amphitheatre, and the Eternal Flame war memorial at its entrance.

The park is busiest on weekend mornings when families, joggers, and dog-walkers crowd the lower paths. Farther up the hill the crowds thin out and the paths become genuine forest trails. The upper sections connect to the TV tower hill and Turtle Lake beyond, making Vake Park the starting point for an extended walk into the wooded hills west of the city.
