Things to Do

Liverpool packs a remarkable amount of culture into a compact city centre. William Brown Street alone -- lined with nothing but museums, libraries and galleries -- is unique in Britain. The Albert Dock adds the Tate Gallery and The Beatles Story, while two cathedrals at opposite ends of Hope Street anchor the city's architectural identity.

Beyond the headline attractions, Liverpool rewards wandering. The Georgian Quarter, the Baltic Triangle's converted warehouses, and the waterfront promenade all have their own character. Football fans will find two of England's most storied clubs within a couple of miles of each other.
