Epiphany Bogoyavlensky Monastery

Epiphany Bogoyavlensky Monastery is one of Moscow's oldest monastic sites, founded in the 1290s just east of the Kremlin area. The surviving ensemble includes the cathedral, bell tower, monastic cells, and the abbot's chamber.

It is much quieter than Red Square but close enough to fold into the same walk. Stop here for a compact look at medieval Moscow's religious layer, partly hidden behind the grander imperial and Soviet landmarks nearby.
