Ugresha Monastery is a walled Russian Orthodox monastery in Dzerzhinsky, just southeast of Moscow. Its tradition links the foundation to Dmitry Donskoy and the Battle of Kulikovo, while the present complex combines restored older structures with the large 19th-century main cathedral.
The monastery is an easy half-day religious and architectural stop for travellers already exploring Moscow's outer sights. The grounds also include small museums, including one connected with Nicholas II.
