The Museum of the Moscow Railway grew out of a display centred on Lenin's funeral train, and that strange starting point still gives it character. The collection includes the U-127 steam locomotive and Lenin's funeral van, alongside exhibits on the wider history of Moscow's railways.
It is a specialist museum, but a good one for travellers interested in trains, Soviet history, or the infrastructure that helped shape Moscow.
