Brompton Cemetery is one of London's "Magnificent Seven" Victorian cemeteries, a long, leafy burial ground between Chelsea and Earl's Court. It is calmer and less Gothic than Highgate, but its avenues, domed chapel, and mix of grand monuments and modest graves make it a fine slow walk. Look for the graves of suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst, physician John Snow, and a surprising number of actors, soldiers, and adventurers.
