St Augustine's Tower is the surviving medieval tower of Hackney's old parish church. It is a small stop rather than a major London sight, but the climb gives a useful local view and a rare physical reminder of Hackney before the modern borough grew around it.
The tower usually opens only on limited dates, so check before making a special trip. It works best as part of a walk through Hackney Central or nearby Dalston.
