Staple Inn

Staple Inn is a rare surviving group of Tudor half-timbered buildings in central London. Built in 1585, it served as an Inn of Chancery and escaped much of the destruction that erased similar buildings elsewhere in the city.

The exterior is the main reason to stop: it is a quick but striking architectural contrast to the surrounding legal district.
