The Hill Garden and Pergola is one of Hampstead Heath's best quiet corners. The restored timber pergola runs above the garden in a long, atmospheric line, wrapped in climbing plants and opening to views over the heath.
It feels more composed than the wild heath around it, with lawns, a fish pond, and carefully kept planting below the pergola. It is a good detour if you are already walking Hampstead Heath and want somewhere still, leafy, and a little theatrical.
