The London Wetland Centre turns former reservoir land beside the Thames into a large urban nature reserve of lagoons, reedbeds, hides, and walking paths. It is one of the easiest places in London to spend a few hours watching waterbirds without leaving the city.
Families come for the ponds, boardwalks, and hands-on nature exhibits, while birders use it as a reliable wintering and migration site. Bring binoculars if you have them.
