Museo de la Medicina Mexicana

Museo de la Medicina Mexicana occupies the former Palace of the Inquisition, a fittingly severe setting for a museum about the history of medicine in Mexico. The exhibits move from Mesoamerican healing traditions through modern medical practice.

The museum is best known for its unsettling wax models of wounds, diseases, and malformed body parts, along with preserved embryology specimens. It is not for every visitor, but it is one of the Centro Historico's more unusual museums.
