Templo de San Francisco

Templo de San Francisco is one of the historic churches of central Mexico City. Construction began in the 16th century and continued in later phases, on land that had once formed part of the Aztec emperor Moctezuma's zoo.

The church is an easy stop near the Casa de los Azulejos, Torre Latinoamericana, and Palacio de Bellas Artes. Its layered history makes it more than a quick facade photo, especially for visitors tracing the colonial city over the former Mexica capital.
