Bosniak Institute

The Bosniak Institute is a cultural centre devoted to Bosniak history, art, books, and identity. It was founded by Adil Zulfikarpasic and occupies a restored Ottoman-era bathhouse in central Sarajevo, which gives the collection a strong sense of place before you even start looking at the exhibits.

The institute is a good stop if Sarajevo's layered history has begun to pull you in. Expect manuscripts, art, library holdings, and cultural material rather than a simple tourist display. It is quieter than the city's headline museums, but that is part of its value.
