Sarajevo's Central Post Office is a monumental Austro-Hungarian building opened in 1913 and designed by Czech architect Josip Vancas. Its tall entrance doors lead into a Secession-style foyer with details that recall Vienna's grand public buildings.
The building was damaged during the Siege of Sarajevo and restored in 2001, so it also belongs to the city's story of destruction and repair.
