Hämeenpuisto

Hämeenpuisto is a wide, tree-lined boulevard and park running north-south through the western part of Tampere's centre, connecting the Finlayson area to the south with the residential neighbourhoods to the north. Several of Tampere's major cultural institutions line the boulevard: the Tampere Art Museum, the Tampere Workers' Theatre, and the city's main library are all along or just off it.

The boulevard is divided by a green median with mature trees and benches — a Scandinavian version of the Parisian boulevard form. Worth walking end-to-end as a way of connecting several sights in a single route, particularly in good weather.
