Satakunnansilta is the northern of the two bridges crossing the Tammerkoski rapids, connecting the Finlayson area to the eastern bank. It offers a different angle on the rapids from Hämeensilta — looking upstream toward the factory buildings, which is the more industrial and atmospheric view. The bridge was built in the 1930s and is solid rather than decorative.
Worth crossing rather than just looking at: the view from the middle of the bridge gives the best sense of the rapids' power and the scale of the factory buildings on both banks.
