Tampere Tram

Tampere's tram network is the newest in Finland, opened in 2021 after the city revived the system that had closed in 1976. The line runs along Hämeenkatu through the city centre and has since been extended toward Pyynikki and Hervanta. Riding the full route is a practical way to get a sense of the city's geography — the tram crosses the rapids on Hämeensilta and passes most of the main landmarks.

The fare is reasonable and the trams are modern. Day passes cover unlimited rides and are worth buying if you plan to move between Pyynikki, the centre, and Tammela over a full day.
