Koskipuisto is a long linear park running along the north bank of the Tammerkoski Rapids and extending north along Lake Näsijärvi toward Särkänniemi. It is Tampere's main green corridor through the city centre — an easy walk from the rapids to the amusement park, passing the old Tampella factory buildings and the lakefront along the way.
The park has a good outdoor gym, benches along the water, and several places to access Lake Näsijärvi for swimming. In winter the paths are maintained for walking and the frozen lake surface attracts skaters. The walk from central Tampere to Särkänniemi along Koskipuisto takes about 25 minutes and is one of the more pleasant urban routes in Finland.
