The Franzosischer Dom stands on Gendarmenmarkt and tells the story of Berlin's Huguenot community. The church was built to echo the Huguenot church at Charenton near Paris, destroyed in 1688, and it later became home to the Huguenot Museum.
The museum explains how French Protestant refugees shaped Berlin's crafts, trade, and even dialect. Visit it together with the square's other monumental buildings rather than as a stand-alone trip.
