Haus der Kulturen der Welt

Haus der Kulturen der Welt is Germany's national centre for contemporary non-European art, housed in the striking former Kongresshalle near the Tiergarten. The building was an American contribution to the 1957 Interbau exhibition and is still one of Berlin's more distinctive postwar landmarks.

The programme changes often, with exhibitions, performances, talks, and cross-disciplinary projects. Even without a ticketed event, the architecture and riverside setting make it a worthwhile stop when walking between the Reichstag and the Tiergarten.
